Due to growth, manufacturer is seeking a mechanical project engineer! The mechanical project engineer will report to the engineering manager and will work within a team of engineers and programmers. Responsibilities will include new part engineering, part drawing management, fixture design, ECN requests and continuous improvement. The majority of your daily tasks will be involved with new part engineering including interpreting customer drawings, breaking down parts and re-engineering, creating work instructions, communicating with customers, determining manufacturability, completing drawings in AutoCAD and SolidEdge and updating customer drawings. Additional responsibilities will include receiving ECN requests from customers, updating the ECN log, updating work instructions, reading mechanical drawings, troubleshooting manufacturing issues, reducing scrap, increasing efficiencies and finding cost savings. Candidates should feel comfortable spending up to 90% of their day working at their computer station. Candidates are required to have strong communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with customers and salary and hourly staff. This position does require candidates to be capable of process improvements, analytical thinking, strong problem solving, follow through on tasks and responsibilities, ability to work in a fast-paced environment and flexibility with work responsibilities.

This is an hourly position with a VERY competitive benefits package and paid overtime.
REQUIREMENTS for the Mechanical Project Engineer:

1. A minimum of an associate's degree; ideally in a technical field
2. At least 2 years in a similar engineering position
3. Experience working in metalworking environments
4. The ability to read blueprints
5. A strong mechanical aptitude
6. AutoCAD
7. 3D modeling
8. Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel
Skills preferred but NOT required:

1. Experience working with SolidEdge
2. Welding and fabrication background
3. CADCAM software
4. Continuous improvement projects
5. MRP and/or ERP software

Candidates are preferred to be local to the St. Marys, Ohio area. There is not a relocation package available.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
